Prune Bits are a whole-fruit ingredient made of prunes but processed in a way that makes them soluble in liquids. This no-sugar-added barbecue sauce leverages Prune Bits for texture and is easy to customize. Want to move in a smoky direction, or add some heat, or even a splash of whisky? We leave it all up to you.
Add water and prune bits to a pot. Bring to a boil while stirring until the bits have softened. Add the remaining ingredients, lower the heat to medium, and puree until smooth using an immersion blender. Continue to cook, stirring often, until thickened to desired consistency. Cool completely before storing.
